Mission and Aims

At Sam's Place Charity, our mission is to provide comprehensive support and opportunities for young people with Disabilities, Learning Disabilities, and autism in Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre. We believe that these individuals deserve the same chances and experiences as everyone else.

Our goal is to empower young people by equipping them with essential life skills, social skills, and work skills. Through our projects, we aim to boost their self-confidence, increase independence, and provide a supportive environment for them to have fun.
We also understand the challenges faced by parents and carers, which is why we offer vital respite and reassurance. By ensuring that their children receive the necessary support, we aim to alleviate some of the stresses and uncertainties faced by families. In doing so, we strive to reduce social isolation and enhance the overall quality of life for these individuals.
One of our core principles is promoting inclusion and diversity within the community. We actively work to challenge and transform people's perspectives on the abilities of young people with disabilities, special educational needs, and autism.

  • We aim to provide young people with disabilities, learning disabilities, complex needs, and autism with opportunities to connect, socialise, and build meaningful relationships.

  • Our projects focus on enabling these individuals to develop essential life skills and gain a sense of independence. Through tailored activities and support, we strive to enhance their ability to navigate daily challenges.

  • We believe in nurturing the potential of every individual. By offering a variety of activities, we aim to help these young people discover new talents and develop skills that can be applied in various aspects of their lives.

  • We recognise the importance of promoting a positive self-image and building self-confidence. Our projects are designed to empower these individuals, boost their self-worth, and provide them with a sense of purpose and direction.

  • With an emphasis on preparing for the future, we strive to instill a strong work ethic and equip these young people with relevant work-related skills. This will enhance their employability prospects and enable them to contribute to society.

  • Mental health is a crucial aspect of overall well-being. By providing a supportive environment and promoting positive mental health practices, we aim to reduce the likelihood of mental health issues and enhance the overall well-being of these individuals.

  • We understand the challenges faced by carers and parents. Through our projects, we aim to provide much-needed respite, support, and opportunities for peer support, helping to alleviate stress and provide valuable coping strategies. To fulfill our mission and achieve our aims, we have developed a wide range of projects within the charity.
